Roger Bates: President

Hello: I have been a member of the Flight Sim World for about 5 or 6 years. After finding out about Virtual Airlines and VATSIM from my mom of all people I decided to look into this virtual flying world and joined my first VA, American Flight Airways/AFA. Their flight community is very large and I was looking for more camaraderie with my fellow pilots so I did an extensive search and found Metro Air. I joined up with them some time in early "06 'and found the camaraderie I was seeking and made some good friends that I still hang with to this day. After flying with Metro for a few years I took a position as their Ontario Hub Manager which I resigned from to start this project.

After closing my first VA I met Peter Holske, founder of WestPort Virtual. We hit it off well and became friends quickly, I joined his airline and accepted a postition as Director of PR. I liked his approach to running his operation, flights are manually dispatched and he keeps track of the financials himself by hand, no automation. So, when I started this project he and I struck a deal, he created my financial plan and will continue to consult as needed. Pete is a real world pilot with a degree in finance, so who better to help us out with those boring financials(I know some of you love that stuff)!!
